Ms. Aliuska Diaz
Ms. Aliuska Diaz obtained a diploma in teaching and performing flute at the National School of Arts, Havana Cuba in 2001 under the tutelage of Prof Guillermo Antonio Pedroso and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the National Institute of Arts, Havana Cuba in 2006 under Prof. Raul Valdes (1st flute National Symphonic Orquestra).
She worked as an apprentice of Jose Luis Cortes (el Tosco), founder of The Cuban Flute School, a non-profit project together with Prof Pedroso, to teach the tradition of Cuban flute rhythms and improvisation.
She has taught at the International Centre for Music in Doha, Qatar as a flute and music theory teacher. Her teaching experience covers students from young to adults and as a performer her repertoire includes from classical music to jazz, latin, bossa nova and her beloved Cuban music.
Aliuska is currently teaching flute and music theory at Tanglewood Music School.
